I've been trying to reinstall my Realtek USB 11g/n connector since reinstalling Windows XP. Although the driver and utilities have apparently been successfully installed from the disc, the icons shows:

a) No Realtek 11n USB wireless LAN.
b) Ralink wireless LAN card does not exist.

When I put the drive in the USB port, the configuration utility does not start either, nor does it launch from the desktop icon. It flashes and disappears. What can I do?

In order to fix the issue, navigate to Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound, open Device Manager, expand the Network Adapters list, right-click on the driver and select Update Driver Software. Insert the installation disc in the CD/DVD drive and then use the Browse option to navigate to the package. Select the driver and install it following the on-screen instructions. After that, reboot your computer, connect the USB device and press Scan for hardware changes icon from Device Manager.

The problem could be related to the fact that you have installed an application on a non-support operating system. Download the application again from its official website and make sure to choose the right model of your device then the software will work normally.
